Inspired by the recognizable shape of a ladder, Frederik Roijé designed the Split Step.
With a twist, steel is folded into a beautiful stepladder. The ladder gets its stability by the simple split in the design.
The result is a contemporary interpretation of the stepladder: lightweight in appearance, strong in construction and surprisingly versatile. Use it to reach a little higher, as an occasional seat, or as a pedestal for smaller objects.
With Split Step, Frederik Roijé transforms an everyday utility object into a distinctive piece of design, where material, construction and function come together in one elegant gesture.
Available in an all-steel version or with solid oak treads finished with whitewash oil. The wood is sourced from sustainably managed forests. Fitted with felt pads on the underside to prevent scratches. Made in the Netherlands.
