CeLLIGHT

Inspired by the fascinating way cells organise, connect and multiply, designer Frederik Roijé created Cellight: a series of pendant lamps in which a simple geometric element develops into a spatial light structure.

The design is based on the power of repetition and connection. A single element forms the foundation; by duplicating and connecting these elements, a structure emerges that evokes the growth of a cellular formation. The result is an interplay of geometry, rhythm and light, in which the construction itself becomes part of the visual experience.

During the design process, Roijé explored various possibilities and combinations of these repeating elements. From this exploration, three distinctive models were selected and put into production: Octa, Hexa and Penta. Each model has its own geometric identity and lighting effect, while sharing the same underlying construction principle.

The Cellight series is produced in the Netherlands from powder-coated steel, in collaboration with local craftsmen.
